The Next Chapter

OUR MOVE

A wise man once said, “Change is inevitable … except from a payphone.” There is some truth to that statement as it pertains to life, and a big change is coming for my family soon.

In a couple of months, we will no longer be residents of the west coast.

We announced a few weeks ago to the Lake Merced Church of Christ we would be resigning our positions in June and leaving San Francisco.

The past few years in this city have been a rich learning experience. God blessed us to accomplish many of the goals we set out to accomplish and to touch many lives, but ultimately we do not feel He is leading us to be here long-term.

Great First Day On Campus

Just a quick note to say we had our official first day of activities on campus here in San Francisco, and it went great! Thank you to everyone who has been praying … please keep it up!

Our priority first and foremost is to make disciples, and God is already making things happen. I would tell you more, but I just put in a 17 hour day of work. Time for bed! 🙂

Keep those prayers comin’ please!

Last year in this post I shared with you my thoughts about the importance of having a good website for your church. Here’s an excerpt:

It is a fact that most people today will visit a church’s website before they’ll attend an actual church service – especially in a city when you’re working with today’s middle class. It’s not enough to have a website just to have a website. If your site is sub-par, you’ll leave a lot of people with the impression that your church is sub-par. If your site is filled with irrelevant or outdated information, you’ll leave a lot of people with the impression that your church is irrelevant or outdated.

Think of your church’s website as the first smell that hits a guest’s nostrils when they walk into your living room. Is yours fresh-baked bread, or did somebody step in something?

I’m pleased to be able to share today a slice of fresh-baked bread – check out our new website:

We went with FaithHighway in putting this together. There are still a couple of kinks to work out, but overall I am pleased with their work.
